Stems

Press stem sealing requires the specialized glass techniques and equipment which Fredericks has developed over the decades. These stem assemblies consist of a glass wafer containing a series of hermetically sealed leads and, where required, a glass tubulation. The metal leads provide electrical feedthrough for evacuated tubes and assemblies. A tubulation permits easy attachment to a vacuum manifold for evacuation, back filling, and final sealing. We offer production capability from prototype lots to large production runs utilizing Fredericks single- and multi-station sealing machines. Our consistent success in the manufacture of sturdy, vacuum-tight glass-to-metal seals is the result of a thorough blend of art, science, and experience with proper facilities and controls.

These assemblies are typically used in sophisticated glass products.
